East Delhi’s road infrastructure is set get a boost with the government’s Expenditure Finance Committee on Wednesday clearing proposals to build flyovers and widen streets in Shastri Park and Seelampur. The projects approved by EFC, which was headed by finance minister Manish Sisodia, include construction of two flyovers, two U-turns and widening of the Seelampur crossing. “Under the project, the public works department (PWD) will construct a 700-metre, six-lane, two-way flyover at the Shastri Park junction. A 1,200-metre, two-lane, one-way flyover will be constructed parallel to an existing one-way bridge at Seelampur crossing,” PWD minister Satyendar Jain said on Wednesday.
