New road to link E Delhi, Loni

The Centre has proposed a 19-km, six-lane highway connecting east Delhi to Loni on the Delhi-ghaziabad border, to decongest several areas in the northeastern parts of Delhi and facilitating those travelling to western UP through these areas. Officials said the proposed road will start from National Highway (NH) 24, near Akshardham flyover and touch Saharanpur-delhi NH-709 B, near Garhi Jassi in Loni Dehat. The new link will not only reduce travel time to western UP districts such as Bhagpat, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, and Sahanranpur but also help smoothen traffic flow in north-eastern part of the Capital such as Shastri Park, New Usmanpur, Khajuri Khas and Bhajanpura.
