The Gautam Budh Nagar administration has completed the public hearing with farmers of eight villages before starting the land acquisition for Jewar airport project along the 165km Yamuna Expressway. The land acquisition will start by the end of the month after the Uttar Pradesh government approves the social impact assessment (SIA) report and social impact assessment management plan (SIAMP). The Gautam Buddha University (GBU) carried out the impact survey for the Jewar airport. A team comprising Jewar subdivisional magistrate Prasun Dwivedi and members of the SIA committee from GBU conducted the public hearings from May 28 to June 2 to understand the farmers’ demands and concerns.
