The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) on Sunday filed an FIR against 28 persons, including nine officials, for allegedly being involved in a land purchase corruption case along the 165km-long Yamuna Expressway that connects Greater Noida with Agra. Of the nine officials, two are provincial civil services (PCS) officials and one is a retired IAS officer. Police said the accused allegedly bought 57.1549 hectares of land worth Rs. 85.49 crore across seven villages in Bajna, and sold it to the government at a higher rate. Police said the accused have been booked under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and Section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
