The UP cabinet late Wednesday approved the hiring of a developer for the Jewar airport project. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida), the nodal agency for the project, has expedited the process of selecting a concessionaire. On May 10, the ministry of civil aviation (MOCA) had asked Yeida and Pricewaterhousecoopers (PWC), the consultant for the project, to prepare a bid document to select a concessionaire who will develop the airport in Jewar, Greater Noida. “As per the process, we will float a global tender inviting bids from interested developers. Since the UP cabinet has given its approval, we will take the process to the next stage,” Prabhat Kumar, Yeida chairman, said.According to the schedule, the civil aviation ministry has directed PWC to prepare the bid document and float a request for proposal (RFP) next month after completing all required formalities.
