With work on the new U-turn near Sector 15A on the Delhi-Noida Link Road almost complete, officials have started testing it for traffic flow for an hour in the mornings. Barely a kilometre away from an existing U-turn, the new one is quite narrow and could hit vehicular movement and cause traffic snarls. According to Noida authority officials, work on the new U-turn — such as installation of signage and blinkers — will be completed in 10 days and it will be made operational by the end of the month. While the authority is convinced that it would ease traffic congestion, commuters believe that the new U-turn will affect traffic for the worse. The new lane will now be used by a handful of residents of Sector 15A and 14A. Meanwhile, an entire lane will be reduced for regular traffic that uses the stretch from Delhi towards Greater Noida. Congestion would be worse during evening peak hours when people coming from Delhi-noida Direct (DND) Flyway use this stretch.
